Research Abstract

ガラス基板上に蒸着法で作製した複雑な表面形状をもつ金微粒子薄膜を,可視MAIRS法で測定したところ,10日間ほどの時間で大きな変化を示した.また,この経時変化はMAIRS-IPおよびOPスペクトルとで大きく異なっていた.すなわち,IPスペクトルがシフト的な変化を示したのに対し,OPスペクトルは2つのバンドの入れ替わりの様相を呈した.スペクトルを束ねて行列とし,固有値解析を行ったところ,IPスペクトルが無限の成分をもつ変化であるのに対し,OPスペクトルは2成分スペクトルの線形結合で説明できることがわかり,上記の変化の特徴が確かに裏付けられた.一方,薄膜の表面形状をAFMとSEM観察により調べた結果,時間とともに微粒子が凝集し,連続膜から微粒子集合系へと変化していることがわかった.すなわち,粒子ひとつ当たりの体積の変化と,粒子間隔の変化が同時に起こっており,粒子に局在したプラズモンどうしの双極子相互作用が,スペクトル変化を理解する上で重要であることが示唆された.これらをモデルで考えるため,双極子相互作用をhead-to-tail型とface-to-face型に分けて考えると,MAIRSスペクトル全体の変化をうまく説明できることがわかった.さらに,FDTD法による電磁場計算により,数粒子を並べたときの双極子相互作用の異方性を考えたモデル計算も実測をうまく説明することができた.このように,well-definedでない薄膜でも,MAIRS法により吸収異方性を調べることで,現象の本質を正確にとらえられることが初めて示された.
