Outline of Annual Research Achievements

チップ増強レイリー散乱法では、試料表面にコンタクトしたAFMチップ(Ptコート)に入射角20-30度方向から励起光を入射すると、チップによる空間対称性の低下により試料表面上に発生した近接場光が散乱される。散乱光強度は、AFMチップー試料間距離に対する非線形性から、Tapping周波数(Ω～70 kHz)の高調波成分を含んでいて、本実験ではチップのArtifactを除くために、その第二高調波(2Ω)を検出した。音響光学素子(AOM)を用いてω’(～40 MHz)だけ周波数シフトさせた参照光を、散乱光と干渉させる。高周波ロックインアンプでω’-2Ω成分を検出すれば、散乱光の振幅Esigと相対位相φsig-φrefを求めることができる。ここで重要なことは、2位相高周波ロックインアンプの振幅と位相がそのまま光の振幅と位相に対応することである。このようにして、金ナノ構造に光照射した際に発生する構造体近傍の電場の振幅と位相の同時検出を行った。その結果ナノ構造体には双極子型の電場分布が出来ており、FDTD法を用いた計算結果と一致することがわかった。
また、チップ増強法の起源の解明を行った。チップ増強法は、チップ先端での電場増強効果の他に、Purcell効果に由来する発光効率の増大、チップ金属で熱になる損失の3つの効果が関係しているため、いまだにチップ増強法の明確な起源は明らかとなっていない。そこで、チップ増強発光法とチップ増強ラマン散乱法を用いて、これらの効果がそれぞれどの程度寄与しているかを調べた。試料としてGaAs、ZnSe, GaSe, CdSe量子ドットを用いて増強度と発光寿命の変化を測定した。その結果、いずれの試料においても、電場増強効果による寄与が最も大きいことがわかった。
