Outline of Research at the Start

重要な機能性を発現する材料の一つとして注目されているゼオライトを対象として、元素選択性あるいは電子状態選択性を持つ放射光を用いた X線異常散乱や蛍光X線ホログラフィーによる3次元原子イメージの構築、軟X線発光分光による部分電子構造、非弾性散乱による元素選択型のダイナミクスと、それを助けるデータ科学としてスパース・モデリングとベイズ推定を取り入れ、協奏的にゼオライトの基礎物性に迫る。またそれらの実験結果は密度汎関数法による理論計算で正当性を明らかにする。それらの成果は、新しいゼオライト合成にフィードバックするとともに、その新しい機能性を提案する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、重要な機能性を発現する材料の一つとして注目されているゼオライトを対象として、元素選択性あるいは電子状態選択性を持つ放射光を用いたX線異常散乱や蛍光X線ホログラフィーによる3次元原子イメージの構築、軟X線発光分光による部分電子構造、非弾性散乱による元素選択型のダイナミクスと、それを助けるデータ科学としてスパース・モデリングとベイズ推定を取り入れ、協奏的にゼオライトの基礎物性に迫ることを目的とした。またそれらの実験結果は密度汎関数法による理論計算で正当性を明らかにした。

申請者の行った機能性ゼオライトの基礎物性の実験的観測は、階層性のあるゼオライト構造の中で機能を示す活性ポイントについて、3次元原子イメージの構築、軟X線発光分光による部分電子構造、非弾性散乱による元素選択型のダイナミクスと、密度汎関数理論によってゼオライトの原子構造や電子状態を求め、実験との整合性を図るとともに、その機能の起源について詳しく考察を行った。本研究では、高耐久性排ガス純化触媒の活性点を明らかにし、人類的課題である環境問題を解決するゼオライト機能の高度化に手がかりを見出す。本年度は高耐久性排ガス純化触媒として利用されているFeやCuを含むゼオライトを対象として、SPring-8で高エネルギーX線回折実験を継続し、その原子構造に果たすFeやCuの役割を明らかにした。また、密度汎関数法による理論計算を行い、いくつかの実験事実に理論的な裏付けを与えた。今後は研究の成果は論文によって公表し、日本の基礎研究のレベルの高さを紹介したい。
