Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では稀に錯体フレームワーク結晶が示す固体―液体相転移(融解)に着目し、合成と解析から本挙動を理解、制御することによって融合材料を創出することを目的とした。具体的な実績は下記2点である。
1. 融解性錯体フレームワークの熱挙動の解明と燃料電池電解質への応用:金属イオンと配位子の組み合わせを多数検討することにより、融解性錯体結晶を十数種類合成することに成功した。また融解性錯体結晶のひとつである[Zn(H2PO4)2(HPO4)](ImH2)2 (ImH2 : プロトン化イミダゾール)において、X線解析から構造中のある配位結合のみ特異的に伸長することがわかり、この配位結合が高温で一部開裂することによって融解挙動を引き起こしていることが分かった。またガラス状態はEXAFSおよび動径分布関数解析によって、長距離秩序は失いつつも錯体ネットワーク構造は保持されていることを確認した。また燃料電池の膜/電極接合体(MEA)を作成し120℃において電流を取り出すことに成功した。
2. 錯体フレームワークを鋳型とした多孔性カーボンの合成制御:錯体フレームワーク結晶の高温側において、多彩な金属イオンと有機配位子の構造中の再配置や反応が起こることを確認したため、この熱特性を利用した多孔性カーボンの合成制御を行った。有機配位子が系統的に異なるMg2+イオン錯体結晶を4種類用い、その高温側におけるMgO粒子形成機構の配位子依存を利用して、焼成して得られる多孔性カーボンの細孔径を5-50 nmの幅で制御した。
またZn2+イオンからなる錯体結晶中の配位子が高温側でガス種を発生させる挙動を利用し、発泡性カーボンを合成できることを見出した。この結果、ミクロ孔(2 nm以下)に加え、マクロ孔(50 nm以上)を多く有するカーボンが得られ、それに起因した高いキャパシタ特性が得られた。
