研究概要

マウス初期胚由来胚性幹細胞(ES細胞)および栄養膜幹細胞(TS細胞)と体細胞組織の比較により、それぞれの幹細胞に特徴的なDNAメチル化状態を示すゲノム領域を同定した。得られたDNAメチル化情報などに基づき、核移植クローン胚由来TS細胞は正常胚由来TS細胞と同等であることを示した。また、初期胚発生において、DNAメチル化プロフィールは形態的な細胞分化のあとで形成されることを明らかにした。
