Quantum entanglement is a key feature of quantum mechanics, and describes the unique correlations that can arise between two quantum systems. It leads to mysterious features like 'spooky action at a distance' and is an important resource for quantum computers.
Recently, new microscopes allow us to probe the complex electronic wavefunctions of single molecules with exquisite precision. Our project is about creating entangled states between two such orbitals and observing them with this astounding apparatus. With theoretical models will help design the experiments, and identify entanglement.
