研究概要

本重点領域研究は、計画班として「組換え機構の分子的基礎」と「生理機能の発現と組換え機構」を研究する各8名からなる2班を組織し、更に公募研究14課題を加えて発足した。
6月3日に総括班主催の第1回全体会議を関西セミナ-ハウスで開催し、班員全員がこれまでの研究経過と研究計画を発表し討論した。これに引きつずき第6回ワ-クショップ「遺伝的組換えとその制御」を2日間にわたり主催し、本重点領域研究担当者以上の研究者を含めて討論を行なった。これによって本重点領域研究の全体像を明確にした。7月28日から8月2日まで、米国Vermont州で、FASEB主催の“Genetic Recombination and Genome Rearrangements"をテ-マとした国際会議が開催された。定員150名のところに250名の応募があり参加者の選抜が行なわれた。この会議には本重点領域研究から8名が選ばれて参加し4人が講演を行ない、また全員がポスタ-発表を行ない多大の反響を呼んだ。12月には本重点領域研究の研究計画について国際的視野からの評価をお願いするために、米国から水内 清博士(NIH)と坂野 仁博士(カリホルニヤ大、バ-クレイ校)を総括班会議に招待した。会議では我が国の研究内容評価の甘さが強く指摘された。また両博士と大坪栄一博士(東大・応微研)を講演者に迎えた公開講演会を12月17日に福岡市、サンパレスで開催した。この講演会には、450名に及ぼ参加者があり、見事な研究内容の講演で大きな感銘を与えた。本年度の研究のまとめとして1月16・17の両日、第2回全体会議を大阪ガ-デンパレスで開催し研究発表・討論を行なった。その発表要旨と一年間の研究業績を冊子としてまとめ関係者に配付した。またニュ-スレタ-を2回発行した。
