研究概要

本研究は,1996年に日本において開催の予定されている第17回有機硫黄化学国際シンポジウムを最大限実りのあるものとするため,国内の当該分野における多方面の研究者を組織し,研究内容の面からの企画を行うことを目的として行われた。
有機硫黄化学国際シンポジウムは,1964年にその第1回が開催され,有機硫黄化学の分野の唯一の国際会議として,その分野の発表に大きな貢献をしてきた。第15回シンポジウムはフランスのカーンで1992年に開かれ,第16回シンポジウムは1994年7月ドイツのメルゼブルクで開かれた。本総合研究は,第16回シンポジウム終了後直ちに日本での開催に向けて,以下のような企画調査を行った。
有機硫黄化学の研究範囲は近年とみに急速な拡大を見せ基礎的側面から,材料への応用,工業的応用,医薬・農薬への応用などに到るまで広範囲に及ぶ。そこで,まず基礎,応用それぞれの分野での研究者が研究連絡会を行い,それぞれに現状を整理し,将来への発展の糸口を探った。その後基礎,応用分野における研究連絡会での討論を基に,両分野の研究者が集合し,全体研究連絡会議を行い,国際会議開催のかめのテーマ選択を行った。また,有機硫黄・リン化合物討論会が発展して作られたヘテロ原子化学討論会で,研究班員が発表を行い,情報を交換した。さらに3回の幹事会も行った。
