研究概要

3年間の間に、日本側研究者16名をフランスに派遣し、仏人研究者3名を日本に招へいし、以下の課題について共同研究を実施した。1.植物ホルモン代謝:仏側が単離したシロイヌナズナの種々突然変異体を利用し、オ一キシンおよびアブシジン酸(ABA)の生合成を司る遺伝子の単離に成功した。2.胚発生と遺伝子発現制御:仏側がシロイヌナズナから単離した胚特異的なABA情報伝達の転写制御因子を利用し、ニンジンホモローグを単離した。このニンジンホモローグを過剰に発現させた形質転換体や形質転換細胞を育成して解析し、この転写制御因子によって発現が制御される遺伝子群を特定することができ、さらに、この転写制御因子および遺伝子群が乾燥耐性獲得に関与することを明らかにした。また、仏側が調整したニンジンカルモジュリン結合タンパク質の抗体を用い、このタンパク質のニンジン不定胚形成に伴う変動を明らかにした。3.花芽分化と雌雄性:日本側がアサガオを用いて花成誘導処理直後に葉で発現する遺伝子をクローン化したところ、仏側が単離したシロイヌナズナ種子中で発現している遺伝子の一種と相同性が高いことが判明した。そこで、両者の持っている情報を交換し、この遺伝子の生理機能や発現特性の比較を行い、本遺伝子ファミリーの全体像が明らかとなった。一方、日本側ではアサを、仏側ではメラントリウムを用い、性染色体の一部のクローン化とその解析に成功した。4.細胞分裂:日仏双方で、植物細胞の分裂を促す新たなペプチド性因子に関する研究が進展し、植物細胞の分裂機構の新たな一端が明らかにされた。
一方、平成9年秋には、つくば市において、「植物生理学および植物分子生物学」に関する日仏合同会議を開催し、研究成果の発表と意見交換を行うと共に、今後の共同研究の打ち合わせを行った。
