研究概要

熱帯・亜熱帯にある開発途上国におけるような高温環境では、果実、野菜のような生鮮食料はもとより、穀実、豆類などの食糧資源は、保蔵条件を誤ると、急速に品質が劣化して利用価値を失ってしまう。
本研究は、タイ国のメチョー大学と愛媛大学の研究者が協力して、収穫作業における農産物の損失、収穫後の管理・貯蔵問題、品質保持、ポストハーベスト農薬の残留、畜産問題等の解決へ向けて行ったものである。研究は次の5課題について行った
1. 青果物の収穫システムと収穫後の生理およひ貯蔵に関する研究
2. 穀類の機械化栽培技術と品質に関する研究
3. 米の乾燥、貯蔵および品質評価技術に関する研究
4. 飼料中のフィチンリンの有効利用に関する研究
5. 農作物及び農耕地環境に残留する農薬の解折とその適正利用に関する調査研究
これらの研究課題を達成するため、3年間に亘って、メチョー大学の研究者延べ8名を招へいし、日本からも研究分担者延べ8名をタイ国に派遣し、日本、タイ両国の研究者が共同して、中央卸売市場等の花卉、青果などの流通部門の調査、野菜生産工場、大規模花生産ハウス、収穫機・乾燥機の製造工場、ジュース加工場、生産農家(みかん作、稲作など)、稲作農家や果樹生産会社、冷凍食品工場などを訪問し、プレ・ポストハーベスト技術の現状を調査した。さらに、愛媛大学およびメチョー大学でそれぞれ3回ずつ計6回の公開セミナーを実施し、研究代表者および分担者のほぼ全員が研究成果の話題提供公開で討論を行った。
