社会の基盤となりつつあるモバイルマルチメディア分散ネットワークシステムにおける安全性、信頼性と性能はますます重要になっている。本研究では、システムの信頼性、安全性及び性能の視点からモバイルマルチメディアネットワークシステムの管理(移動性管理、資源管理など)及び評価を総合的に行うものである。本研究の期間中、システムの安全性、信頼性と性能の視点からモバイルマルチメディアネットワーク、モバイルアドホックネットワークなどのマルチメディア分散ネットワークシステムの管理及び評価法について研究を全面的に展開している。1.モバイルマルチメディアセルラーネットワークのアーキテクチャと移動性管理について検討を行っている。その中に、次世代のモバイルマルチメディアセルラーネットワークのアーキテクチャに適している移動性管理手法を新たに提案し、その最適設計と評価を行った。また、モバイル端末の移動特性に考慮した移動性管理法を提案している。さらに、ネットワークのキャッシュの手法を用いている移動性管理法を提案し、そのアーキテクチャの設計及び性能評価について深く追究している。2.今後のモバイルマルチメディアネットワークはIPベースのネットワークと考えられる。IPベースの移動性管理とそのアーキテクチャについて検討を行っている。特にMobile IPとMobile IPv6などの移動性管理方式、その信頼性と安全性などについて深く追究している。3.モバイルアドホックネットワークに関する研究はますます重要になっている。我々はその環境でのセキュアな通信のための局所鍵管理プロトコールを提案し、その性能評価と実現方式について研究を行っている。4.モバイルアドホックネットワーク環境で電源資源管理方式について研究を行っている。特にモバイルアドホックネットワークのMAC層での電源管理方式を検討し、その動的管理方式の提案と評価を行っている。5.一般の分散ネットワークのセキュアなグループ通信方式について研究を行っている。6.次世代モバイルインターネットにおける改善した情報分散処理方式などについて研究を展開している。
