研究実績の概要 |
Based on the first field visit made in FY2014, the Fellow has collected dataset required for set-up and running the model for generating groundwater potential zonation map of Killinochi area, Sri Lanka. To complete the second part of research that is hydrogeochemical assessment of water resources with special emphasis on kidney complications, the second field visit was made in July, 2015. In parallel to gather the data, the problem was discussed with relevant nodal scientific officer and the situation was assessed. The Fellow attended launching program of INATE, Sri Lanka which is basically an initiative to carry out research to enhance the livelihoods of farmers in the area who will benefit from the results as final end user of the area. After collecting all the information, he had analyzed hydrogeochemical data with different hydrological software and was able to decipher the factors responsible for water quality deterioration there. During this time period, the Fellow had different opportunities to present his research output though talks in international conferences (e.g. In Annual Conference on Engineering and Information Technology, Kyoto, Japan; Annual Meeting of Asia Oceania Geosciences, Singapore) and meet renowned scientists and experts in this research field. Based on the discussion and feedbacks received at the conference the Fellow was able to fine tune his research results in better sense, and reflect them in the research output as well as JSPS Research Report.
