研究実績の概要 |
In FY2016, I have been a co-author of 6 submitted scientific articles. Several more articles are in the works, including a large review on quantum optics with superconducting circuits. I have given 11 talks and 1 poster presentation at international conferences, workshops, and seminars. See attached list for details.
Among the 6 articles, 3 are theoretical studies of ultrastrong coupling between atoms and photons. In collaboration with several other researchers, we have shown that a wealth of new processes become possible in this regime, e.g., efficient analogues of nonlinear optics and many-body interactions among atoms. All these new processes are within reach for experiments in circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED).
In one article, I studied the physics of a single atom coupled to photons at multiple points separated by a large distance. This new regime of quantum optics can be implemented with surface acoustic waves (SAWs). In another article, I provided theoretical support for an experimental group at Oxford who demonstrated, for the first time in the world, coupling between a resonator for such SAWs and a superconducting artificial atom. The last article I co-authored studied fundamental test of quantum mechanics with many atoms using Leggett-Garg inequalities.
