地球温暖化が沿岸性魚類の性決定へ与える影響評価

研究成果の概要

異常水温が魚類性決定へ与える影響評価の一環として、温度依存型性決定機構を持つギンイソイワシを指標種とし、国内複数箇所における性転換率を経年調査した。その結果、各調査地、年度において比較的低頻度（～20%）の雌雄両方向への性転換が確認されたが、2016年に捕獲された東京湾の野生集団では雄性転換率が40%と突出して高かった。そこで当該集団の耳石解析から孵化時期を推定したところ、本集団は東京湾における他年度の捕獲集団と比較して産卵期が遅く、稚魚がより高温を経験していることが明らかとなった。従って本種は野生集団でも水温依存的な性転換が生じ、将来的な地球温暖化は本種性決定に影響を与える可能性が示された。
