研究成果の概要

磁場閉じ込め型核融合炉では装置壁への過剰な熱負荷が問題となっている。熱負荷を軽減するためにプラズマを放射冷却する方法が考えられている。本研究では3次元的に磁場構造が変化した場合にプラズマの放射冷却がどのように影響を受けるかについて調べた。その結果、外部から摂動を加えて磁場構造を変化させることにより、低荷数の不純物イオンが放射冷却を促進させること、その位置は閉じ込め領域よりも外側にあること、その時の装置壁への熱負荷は全体としては減少するが、局所的に増加するところがあること、放射冷却の量は摂動の強度に依存しないことなどが明らかになった。また現行のプラズマ輸送モデルで修正が必要な個所を明らかにした。

研究成果の学術的意義や社会的意義

本研究の成果から、磁場閉じ込め型核融合炉における装置壁への過剰な熱負荷を、周辺磁場を変化させることによって制御できることが明らかになった。また、磁化プラズマ中における燃料粒子と不純物粒子の相互作用（原子・分子過程）に起因する放射損失過程によって、プラズマの熱エネルギーが電磁波として放出されること、またそれにともなうエネルギー輸送過程の理解が深った。現状の数値シミュレーションで広く用いられているプラズマ輸送モデルの改善点が明らかになった。
