研究実績の概要 |
Due to the shortening of my fellowship period, my research during the FY 1 (令和1年度) only consisted of the months of April-June 2019. As a result, I was not able to complete all tasks I had originally set myself. Nevertheless, I managed to make good progress with both my book manuscript and a planned comparative article on foreign banking in modern China and Japan. I anticipate that I will be able to submit both for publication soon. I also received the peer review comments on a separate article on the role of international banking and finance during the Chinese 1911 revolution I had completed and submitted to an international journal during fiscal year 30. During fiscal year 1, I managed to start on the revisions according to these comments and should be able to resubmit the revised version to the journal soon. Finally, as planned, I wrote up a proposal for a special journal issue on East Asian financial history. This special issue is to be co-edited by Prof. Tetsuji Okazaki, Prof. Michael Schiltz of the University of Hokkaido and myself and has already attracted interest by an international journal. To facilitate the editing of the proposed special issue, I visited Prof. Schiltz at the University of Hokkaido to discuss the special issue, but also my research, with him. It will hopefully be published in the near future and will be an important extension of my research conducted as JSPS International Research Fellow.
