研究成果の概要

本課題では、国際的認定地域における観光振興と生物多様性保全の戦略の相克と両立について分析した。国際機関(UNESCO, FAO等)と国内自治体の公的文章の比較・検証を通じ、地元の期待と認定機関の目的との齟齬という観点から課題を明らかにした。認定の経緯・活用実態（議会のテキスト分析）、農林産品（特に非木材林産物）との相乗効果（流通・地理的表示の保護[GI]登録）、あるいは国内の森林環境譲与税の活用を分析し、国際共著論文(Ecological Indicator, Forest Ecology and Management, Journal of Rural Studies等)として発表した。

研究成果の学術的意義や社会的意義

単独サイトでの分析だけではなく、社会ネットワーク分析の手法を活用した地域間比較の解析・研究を行い、国内の複数個所の比較検証を実施した。DMOや広域連携の関係組織の課題にも着目した点、認定や議会の議事録などのテキストマイニングといった定量的分析を加えた点などには先行性と独自性があり、行政での実務への示唆と社会的意義もあった。結果はIPBESの報告書執筆責任者、外部評価パネル委員、生物多様性条約締約国会議(CBD)政府代表団、指標の技術会合専門家（AHTEG）、EuroMAB分科会座長として国際的に寄与したほか、日本学術会議の農学委員会林学分科会での活動、自治体向け雑誌等への寄稿を通して還元した。
