研究概要

高度に硫酸化されたグリコサミノグリカン鎖であるコンドロイチン硫酸E(CS-E)と、その生合成に係わるバアセチルガラクトサミン4硫酸6-0-硫酸転移酵素(Ga1NAc4S-6ST)のmRNAはヒト星細胞腫で高頻度に発現し、特に後者は予後不良因子であった。膠芽腫U251細胞においてGa1NAc4S-6STsiRNAの導入により、プレイオトロピンやミッドカインへの走触能が低下した。以上の結果より、CS-Eは星細胞腫の浸潤能と係わっていることが示唆された。
