研究概要

金融機関においても地域活動等との関わりにおけるさまざまな対社会的な貢献活動に取り組んでいる。本来業務である融資をはじめとする金融取引活動の継続性は、金融サービスの生産・供給の主体である金融機関の経営にとってのみならず地域経済社会のさまざまな経済主体にとっても不可欠ともいえる重要なインフラストラクチャーの一部となっており、それ自体が基本的なCSR(Corporate Social Responsibility:企業の社会的責任)の遂行という意味を持っている。それに関連する諸事業におけるSRI(Socially Responsible Investment:社会的責任投資)からSF(Social Finance:ソーシャル・ファイナンス:社会的金融)や公共性・公益性の高いと考えられる金融取引案件等への対応、さらには組織としての環境レポートやCSR報告書などの作成と取組みの実施、地域文化活動等への支援、従業員のボランティア活動推奨にいたるものなど、諸種の活動や行事に参加・連携・担当実施していることが明らかにされている。また、金融機関が取引先企業等に対して有するものを含むガバナンス問題をはじめとして、リレーションシップ・バンキングと中小企業経営についても、金融機関とその経営に関する計量分析を含めて分析・考察をおこない、中小企業金融における地域経済社会への重要性とそれに対する特に地域金融機関の果たす役割の大きさが確認されたほか、企業サイドの複数行ないし多数行との取引関係と経営成果との関係等の存在についても実証分析から得られたことなど興味深い結果が見出されている。
