研究概要

地球惑星物質に微量に存在する希ガスは、地球惑星物質の起源や履歴といった情報を与える重要な物質であるが、その希ガス原子が固体物質中にどのような状態で存在しているかはまだ明らかでない。本研究では地球惑星物質内における希ガスの存在状態を知るため、さまざまな鉱物試料におけるXAFSを用いた希ガス近傍局所構造解析を行った。これまで希ガスは不活性であり吸着によって鉱物表面あるいは粒界などに存在するとの考えが支配的であったが、本研究から希ガスは従来考えられていたよりも、強い相互作用によって格子間に存在することが分かった。
