研究実績の概要 |
This research has successfully: 1. Yielded insights in the understanding of current recovery modeling research and identified gaps which should be further explored in the development of recovery modeling studies in relation to policy development for urban planning (presented as 「国際的な復興モデル研究とその活用」at Architectural Institute of Japan, Open research symposium; two conference presentations planned for this year; publication in progress). 2. Identified the problems concerning validation processes for recovery models through field research (paper presented as "Capturing Residents’ Recovery Decision-making Processes in Agent-based Models -validation with cases from Japan and Nepal" at Architectural Institute of Japan conference 2023; publication in process). 3. Developed the extension of the housing recovery model which considers the dynamics of out-migration and the consequent disaster community recovery (publication in progress).

理由
The reason for delay is due to the previous temporary suspension of this research due to maternity and childcare leave. However, considerable progress has been made in the previous year since the PI has returned to work. Most factors that were delayed have been caught up with.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
Journal publication which has reviewed ABM and SD models of recovery is currently under processing and is expected to be published within this year. Several presentations at symposiums and conferences have already been executed and also planned on the basis of this work. Two more journal publications are underway in writing : 1)on the improved model of this study; 2)on the validation issues of ABM recovery models and alternative approaches recommendations. Further work is planned for investigating the influence of internal structures of ABM and SD models and its impact on policy development for recovery.
