研究概要

正常の血管内膜のpHは7.7前後であるが、動脈硬化症のリピドリッチな部位ではpHが7.1程度まで低下する。細胞外pHの低下は血管を構成する細胞の種々の機能を変化させるがその実体は不明である。本研究では「OGR1ファミリーが、pHセンサーとして機能し、動脈硬化症と関連した血管機能の制御に関与している」との仮説のもとに実験を行った。その結果、この受容体ファミリーが、動脈硬化に関係する種々の血管細胞機能を調節していることを明らかにした。
