研究概要

原子レベルで構造を制御した強相関酸化物量子井戸構造を用いて、新奇な2次元電子流体状態を創成・制御することを目的として研究を行った。その結果、強相関酸化物を用いた量子井戸構造を用いることにより、世界に先駆けて強相関電子の2次元閉じ込めとその制御に成功した。さらに、その量子化状態を角度分解光電子分光により特定し、「軌道選択的量子化」や「量子化準位の有効質量発散」といった強相関電子に特有の現象と考えられる奇妙な振る舞いを見いだした。
