研究概要

皮膚は様々な外的刺激に対して、誘導することのできる免疫臓器の一つである。ところが、皮膚における免疫応答の多様性を決定する因子については不明な点が多い。そこで、外的刺激に対する免役応答に関与する分子の同定とその役割の解明が当研究の目的である。
申請者らは、アトピー性皮膚炎や接触皮膚炎などの炎症性皮膚疾患を引き起こす際における表皮角化細胞、樹状細胞、T細胞の一連の免疫担当細胞、バリア機能の役割などを新規皮膚疾患モデルなどを確立することなどにより解明した。さらに、皮膚免疫と全身免疫のクロストークの可能性を示唆する所見も得ることに成功し、皮膚の全身免疫における役割や位置づけを明らかにした。
