研究開始時の研究の概要 |
I founded that Bi ion off-centering was only associated in the material softening in the BF-BT ceramics. On base on this idea, if Ba ions are doped in the MPB composition of PZT ceramics, the piezoelectric constant enhanced with low dielectric constant by Pb ion off-centering can be obtained in the Ba doped PZT (PZT-Ba) ceramics by structural engineering (MPB + Pb ion off-centering). The material softening behaviors will be investigated by electrical properties. The Pb ion off-centering at 950 K and 300 K will be identified using structure refinement/MEM method.

研究実績の概要 |
The purpose of research project is to enhance piezoelectric property by the structural engineering on the basis of mechanism of material softening with ion off-centering and morpotropic phase boundary (MPB). This research project was conducted by Prof. Satoshi Wada and Dr. Sangwook Kim in cooperation with each other in their specialized fields. This year, the research was conducted to enhance of the kp in PZT ceramics through structural engineering, and confirming its crystal structure to achieve the research objectives. The existence of MPB in the Ba and La co-doped PZT ceramics was confirmed by synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction, which was measured in the SPring-8. Besides, it was confirmed that structure engineering (MPB + ion’s off-centering) is effective in improving the electrical properties by showing a significantly higher kp value of structure engineered ceramics.
