研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The research sets out to measure motivational changes in university students over the first two years of compulsory English classes. Growth in language proficiency will also be tracked. Qualitative data is used to identify students who will be interviewed to discover reasons for motivational change.

研究実績の概要 |
This year we were able to collect and analyze more data to be used for publishing paper. We administered the motivation questionnaire we developed on three occasions and we also conducted interviews with students, which were transcribed by a research assistant. We presented our findings at an international conference in Korea, where we were able to receive valuable feedback which will help in publishing papers. In addition to presenting our findings we were also publish a paper in an international journal that required blind peer review. The paper explains how we have modified the questionnaire that we developed as part of this research project, and we offer the final questionnaire as open access to other researchers for subsequent research in this area.
