| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The physical and perceptual limitations of language classrooms will be removed
by allowing a linguistically diverse, international cohort of learners to develop critical
thinking skills, language proficiency, and content knowledge while interacting within low
stress, immersive computer simulations. The concept builds on interdisciplinary research into
applied linguistics, technology enhanced language learning (TELL), and psychology.

| 研究実績の概要 |
During the 2020-2021 academic year, the research focused on improving the functionality of the VR spaces created in 2018 and 2019. Addition VR headsets were purchased to integrate the VR content with various hardware. This preparation was necessary to validate the cross-functionality of the VR content software. The co-collaborators intend to continue the research using the existing VR content. The research will soon focus on experimental trials and collaboration with researchers and participants from outside the university and if possible, from international locations. Recent changes in software and hardware will allow for more natural and intuitive interactions using the VR equipment.
