現在のコンピュータの限界を超えるモデルとして量子計算を対象とし、そのパワーの源である量子相関を解析した。古典力学では現れない相関をもたらす量子相関について、離散最適化の観点からカット多面体を軸とする方法、連続最適化の観点から量子最大破れを解析し、また計算量の観点から対話型証明系との同値性を示し、量子相関の体系的に解明した。さらに量子計算モデル及び量子情報の研究へ展開をはかり、離散・連続の幾何構造を解明した。
