研究概要

自尊心の国際比較では、一部において、日本人およびアジア人の自尊心は低く、アジアにおいては自尊心は重要でないことが主張されていた。これに対して、本研究成果は、日本人にとっても自尊心は欧米と同じような意味をもっていて重要であることを示した。さらに、自尊心の表明の際に控えめに表明することが日本では適応的であることが示された。
