研究概要

基本転写因子TFIIDがコアプロモーター配列(CE)を認識し、特定の塩基対から転写を誘導する分子機構の詳細は未だ不明である。我々は出芽酵母のRPS5コアプロモーターに関して詳細な解析を行い、少なくとも9個以上のA, Tに富む短い塩基配列がCEとして機能することを明らかにした。また各CEには配列特異性はなく、転写の方向性についてもその特異性は低いものであった。しかしながら全体をセットとした場合には強い転写方向性を示したことから、これらのCEは複数個が協調的に働くことでTFIIDの認識配列としての機能を発揮するものと考えられる。
