半自然草原の人的管理とチョウ類の多様性様式の関係:希少種保全の最適管理手法の解明

研究概要

植生調査の結果より、チョウの種数に影響する草本群落の種数を高く維持するために毎年の刈取りが最も効果的であり、その機構の一因として、刈取りによるリター除去の効果が考えられた。また短草型群落を維持することで、比較的省コストで植生の種数維持が可能であることが判明した。一方、チョウ類の調査からは、種多様性は秋に草刈を実施している管理継続区で最大で、絶滅危惧種も管理継続区で個体数の多い種が多く、チョウの多様性と希少種の保全のために、人的管理(刈草)が必須である事が分かった。
