研究概要

言語生成についての、これまでの立場は生成装置あるいは制約の相互にランク付けを行うことで説明されてきた。ミニマリストプログラムにおいては言語普遍的制約と個別言語的制約との間にランク付けが想定されている。最適性理論は、制約間のランク付けが中心的な理論装置である。この研究課題は、科学の基礎理論であるゲーム理論の枠組みを言語理論につきあわせ再構成することを目的として掲げている。この再解釈が成功を収めるとすれば、それは最適性理論に対する重大なアンチテーゼとなる可能性がある。
