研究概要

この研究の主要な成果は、各地での資料収集や調査活動により、原爆傷害調査委員会(ABCC)の調査・研究と米国の核実験や核戦争計画との間に多くの関連づけが可能となった点である。特にABCCによる原爆被爆者の放射線被爆線量を正確に再評価する活動は、被爆線量と健康被害との相関関係を探るものであり、データの多くは、米国で軍事目的に利用された。旧ソ連との戦争において、核兵器を使用し被爆した場合の米軍の戦闘継続能力を推定する目的に利用されたのも、その一例である。
