研究概要

少数の経営体による農業、中山間地域での居住・土地管理の縮小、文化景観としての村評価など、農山村は質的変化の中にある。農業・条件不利地域・景観保全政策は、現代の位相で農山村の持続可能性を追求している。ドラスティックな実態変化を、日本農業、山陰の農山村、林業の衰退と山村住民の生活行動の3点について証明し、研究成果を得た。また、EU、NORDENにおける人口希薄地域振興政策の内容と達成されている地域実態について研究成果を公表した。
