研究概要

特定のリボソーム蛋白質が,発癌過程において発現が変化していること,リボソーム以外の場所で翻訳とは独立した役割を持っていることなどが明らかになってきた.本研究では,消化器発癌組織において発現が変化するリボソーム蛋白質の同定とその機能解析を行った.その結果,L13が癌組織で高頻度に高発現しており,治療抵抗性,予後不良と相関していることを明らかにした.さらにL13蛋白がp53遺伝子の3'非翻訳領域に結合することでp53の翻訳を抑制し,癌の進行を促進することを見いだした.
