研究概要

本研究において歯周病重症度と全身の炎症反応の指標である高感度c-reactive proteinとの関連性を証明した。また、冠動脈プラーク内容物の一部はバルーンに付着しているとされているため冠動脈形成術を施行された患者さんから同意を得、使用済みバルーンを回収し、このバルーン付着物からpolymerase chain reactionにより歯周病菌の検出を試みた。その結果、Prevotella intermedia とPorphyromonas gingivalisのmRNAが検出された。
