研究概要

本研究では1920年代、30年代に東アジア、東南アジア地域での政治情報機関の活動とその実態を、主にイギリス植民地に設立された政治情報警察による国際共産主義運動に対する取り締まり活動に焦点を当てて研究を実施した。その結果、情報収集は政治運動だけではなく宗教運動や商業活動なども対象に広範に行われていたこと、国際共産主義運動の取り締まりについては帝国領内だけではなくオランダやフランス、アメリカ、中国、日本などとも情報を共有することで対処しようとしていたことなどを明らかにした。
