本研究課題は、電波干渉計とVLBIを用いて近傍銀河の中心領域に付随するガスの動力学から銀河全体からブラックホールまでの質量降着過程の解明を目指した。NGC1097やArp220で銀河回転とは異なる回転軸や速度の回転系が確認された。VLBI観測ではArp220の中心に高い輝度温度(>10^6K)の連続波成分が検出され、中心のAGN活動性の可能性が示された。更にNGC1052のAGN領域に降着ガストーラスの存在を初めて示した。加えて新たな銀河回転のプローブ候補の探査を行なったが、有意な検出は無かった。
