研究概要

黄色ブドウ球菌のcvfA遺伝子(SA1129)はカイコ感染モデルを用いて我々が同定した病原性制御遺伝子である。CvfAタンパク質はRNAの3'末端に生じる2', 3'ホスホジエステル結合を分解する活性を有する。cvfA遺伝子欠損株においては、黄色ブドウ球菌の全遺伝子の20%の発現が親株に比べて変化していた。さらに我々は、cvfA遺伝子欠損株の表現型がエキソヌクレアーゼをコードするpnpA遺伝子の欠損により回復することを見出した。従って、CvfAはエキソヌクレアーゼPnpAと協調して働くと考えられる。CvfBが新規構造を有するRNA結合タンパク質であることを明らかにした。cvfCが核酸代謝に影響を与える事を明らかにした。
