研究概要

ETS転写因子MEFは,病原微生物を分解する抗菌ペプチドや免疫系の活性化を制御するサイトカインの発現調節を担う一方,造血幹細胞の自己増殖やNK細胞などの自然免疫担当細胞の分化を担う,極めて広範囲に自然免疫系を制御する転写因子である.本研究では,MEFの発現に対する癌抑制遺伝子p53の影響を検討した.その結果,p53は,MEFの転写活性化因子として新たに同定した転写因子E2F1を抑制することにより,MEFの発現を間接的に抑制することを明らかにした.
