研究概要

これまでオリエンチア・ツツガムシの菌体にはペプチドグリカンが存在しないとされてきた。しかし、宿主細胞内移行性の高いペプチドグリカン合成阻害剤であるホスホマイシンがL929細胞・HeLa細胞・RAW264細胞内におけるオリエンチア・ツツガムシの増殖を強く抑制することを明らかにした。この知見は、恙虫病の新たな治療法の開発に直接、結びつくものである。
