| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
This research will investigate social well-being among older migrant women in ruralJapan. It focuses on women from the Philippines, who moved to rural areas in Japan in the 1980s. Utilizing in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and secondary data analyses, this study will examine aging from the point of view of migrant women in order to understand issues they face as they age along with the rest of the population in a rapidly-aging society. This study aims to bring a feminist and transnational perspective on aging, migration, and social well-being by looking at this particular case.

| 研究成果の概要 |
本研究は、結婚移民、特に日本の農村地域に住むフィリピン人を対象としたものだった。本研究では、高齢化する女性移民と、彼女らのソーシャル・ウェルビイングに関する見方と経験を調査した。これらの女性のほとんどは、医療と社会福祉の重要性をソーシャル・ウェルビイングの一部として考えていることが判明した。しかし、社会的統合は、彼女らのソーシャル・ウェルビイングの経験において重要な要素でもある。研究結果は論文や書籍の章として出版され、国内外の学会でも発表された。 2023年1月には移民と高齢化に関するシンポジウムも開催された。

| 研究成果の学術的意義や社会的意義 |
Japan is facing the realities of an aging society, but it should also consider the aging of the migrant population. One way to address this is to also listen to the voices and know more about the experiences of the migrants who are also aging along with the Japanese.
