研究開始時の研究の概要 |
This is a 10-year comparative study examining the internationalization of teacher education in Singapore. Analyses of findings are expected to show how internationalization can sustainably nurture student teachers with core skills that can contribute to national development and beyond. A framework, as a concrete deliverable, can be used to accelerate teacher preparation through internationalization in other contexts. Given the empirical depth, findings of this study hope to influence other school systems, directly contributing towards attaining the United Nation’s SDG #4.

研究実績の概要 |
The first year of this project was focused on setting the foundation for the next phase. This included a comprehensive literature review, document analyses, as well as communication with contacts in the field to introduce the study. All of these are progressing well.
Peer-reviewed paper presentations were made at two highly selective conferences. In October 2020, I presented at a web conference organized by Boston College’s Center for International Higher Education. In March 2021, my presentation was published online for Singapore’s National Institute of Education’s Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference.
I am currently working on a book chapter for a teacher education handbook. I am also finalizing the research instruments (i.e. questionnaires and interviews) in preparation for the data collection phase.
