研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The use of nanodiamonds (NDs) as reinforcing fillers in polymer nanocomposites has been limited by challenges related to creating uniform dispersions. This research will solve this issue by exploiting enthalpic and entropic factors of co-assembly between block copolymers (BCPs)and NDs. It will involve ND surface functionalization and use BCPs with various configurations to obtain well-ordered BCP-ND nanocomposites via solvent-based techniques. This research will provide a foundation for the synthesis of hierarchically ordered nanocomposites, relevant for coating, tribology, and biotech.

研究実績の概要 |
A manuscript on the preparation of stable suspensions of nanodiamonds (NDs) in organic solvents has been written and is currently under revision by co-authors. The manuscript mainly discusses the mechanism of ND stabilization in the suspension. More characterizations on self-assembled membranes with ND channels were also performed, which focused on the mechanical properties of the nanocomposite films. The experiments revealed more understanding on the structure-property relationship of the films.
