研究概要

ヒトの健康維持に必須の免疫系の機能調節に重要なT細胞の分化を制御する転写因ネットワークの解明を目指して研究を行った。本研究の成果として、胸腺内でのCD4ヘルパーとCD8キラー系列決定機構においてThpok転写因子とRunx転写因子の拮抗的相互作用が中心的な役割を果たすこと、Thpok遺伝子のエピジェネティック制御機構の解明、新規のThpok発現調節因子としてBcl11b転写因子とSATB1転写因子の同定といった成果を得た。また、CD4ヘルパーT細胞には腸管ではCD8を再発現し、キラー活性を有する細胞へのリプログラムする分化可塑性を有していることを明らかにした。
