研究概要

シロイヌナズナ培養細胞の実験から,ショ糖によりエンドサイトーシスが誘導されることを示した.その後,ダイナイミン様タンパク質 DRP1と DRP2のそれぞれが,シロイヌナズナの細胞表面にクラスリンと共局在することから,高等植物のエンドサイトーシスのマシナリーとして DRP1と DRP2の両方が利用されていることを明らかにした.さらに,エンドサイトーシスの小胞形成の際に細胞膜近傍に DRP1がリング状に集合し, GTPase活性を利用した機械化学的な方法でピットの切り離しが行われていることを明らかにした.また,シロイヌナズナの遺伝学的な解析から, DRP2が雌性配偶体と雄性配偶体の双方の形成に必須であることを明らかにした.
