研究概要

ウナギ資源変動機構の解明のため、小規模な産卵回遊を行っている熱帯ウナギ(A. celebesensisとA. marmorata)仔魚の接岸回遊およびインドネシア・スラウェシ島における下りウナギの降河回遊生態を調べた。その結果、ウナギ属魚類ではおよそ70年ぶりとなる新種(A luzonensis)の記載も行うとともに、熱帯ウナギの降河・繁殖生態に関わる重要な知見を得ることが出来た。
