研究概要

超アクチノイド元素ラザホージウム(Rf)のフッ化物形成をシングルアトムレベルでのイオン交換実験から詳細に調べた。一方、周期表同族(第4族)元素のジルコニウム(Zr)やハフニウム(Hf)、および水溶液中で4+の酸化数をもつトリウム(Th)を対象に同様の実験を行い、Rfのデータと比較検討を行った。それぞれのフッ化物形成の強さから、Rfのイオン半径が、Zr/Hfよりも大きくThよりも小さいという定性的ではあるが、超アクチノイド元素を対象にした実験では初めての成果を得ることができた。これは相対論効果を考慮した理論計算とも一致しており、Rfの化学的性質に相対論効果が影響していることを示唆することができた。
