研究概要

近年、歯髄から得られる歯髄幹細胞は歯科領域のみならず、全身疾患への有効性も報告され、注目を集めている。本研究では、非侵襲的に容易に採取可能である乳歯歯髄細胞に特に注目して、その特性の検討を行った。その結果、乳歯歯髄細胞は幹細胞特性を有し、高い増殖能を示し、骨・象牙質形成能を有することが明らかとなった。乳歯が歯槽骨、象牙質の再生に有用な細胞源となりうることが示されたことから、今後乳歯歯髄を用いた新規う蝕・歯周治療法の開発が期待される。
