研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The current pandemic makes past research irrelevant because the practice of WFH is no longer conceptualized as a perk to employees under Covid-19. Instead, it is now a forced practice in certain countries, cities, or organizations. Such a change of WFH's nature raises the need for new theorization.
|
研究実績の概要 |
Our research delved into the human resource challenges arising from the extended work-from-home (WFH) arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through surveys conducted in Japan, South Korea, and China, we discerned the pivotal role of established trust in leadership in influencing WFH productivity. In sum, our study enhances comprehension of both the immediate effects and enduring hurdles of prolonged WFH. We offer insights to assist managers in better preparing for the potential normalization of WFH as a standard practice.

理由
We have successfully concluded both the qualitative and quantitative phases of our research, as outlined in our research proposal. Despite encountering minor setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic during the initial stages, we have regained momentum and are now gearing up for journal submissions.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We are currently in the process of cleaning our data and conducting final analyses, encompassing both within-country findings and cross-country comparisons. One manuscript, derived from our findings in South Korea, is presently under review in the journal Human Performance. Additionally, we anticipate preparing at least one more manuscript for journal submission within the next six months, focusing on cross-country comparisons.
